EN Standard Flow Rates and Grades - Mixing Valve(EN817-2008)
Sanitary faucets - mechanical mixing valves (PN 10), mechanical mixing valves applicable to bathroom (toilet, bathroom, etc.) and kitchen equipment.
Flow Measurement
The measurement is carried out on the fully opened mixing valve. Under a dynamic reference pressure of 0.3 MPa/3 bar, the control device is operated alternately in hot and cold cycles, and the flow rates at at least five temperatures are recorded:
---All cold water;
---34 °C;
---38 °C;
---44 °C;
---All cold water.
Standard Requirements
According to the types of appliances to which the faucets are applicable, they are divided into the fields of water-saving and non-water-saving applications. The flow rate requirements measured at 0.3 MPa/3 bar are shown in the following table respectively:
Application of Mixing Valves | Requirements | ||
Water-saving mixing valves: | |||
Washbasin, sink, shattaf | 4.0-9.0l/min (0.066-0.15l/s) | ||
Non-water-saving: | |||
Washbasin, shattaf, sink, shower | 12.0l/min (0.2l/s)* | ||
Bathtub | 19.0l/min (0.316l/s) all cold water or all hot water | ||
20.0l/min (0.33l/s) between the temperatures of 34 - 44 degrees |
